Testing

•    BIO 226 will have 2 exams presented within the 8 weeks that the course runs.  You may take either exam whenever you feel you are ready, i.e. there is no specific date.  (They should be taken in sequence, i.e., Head & Neck/Thorax first.)   EXAM I must be completed by the 6th of February, and EXAM II must be completed by March 6th.

•    Exams are written in nature, and will be administered in the Natural Sciences Testing Center (L161).  The URL for the Natural Sciences Testing Center (TC) is:  http://natsci.parkland.edu/testing_center/home.htm  Please read the appropriate policies and note the hours that the TC is open.  Specifically - please allow yourself sufficient time (1 hour) to complete your exam prior to the time that the TC closes on a given day/date.  Specifics pertaining to the exams will be listed below.

•    Grading scale for BIO 226 will be the standard:  90% / 80% / 70% for A, B, and C.  Your Final Grade for the course will simply be a numerical average of your score for the two exams.  IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO WITHDRAW FROM THE COURSE IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE NOT PERFORMING AT A LEVEL YOU DESIRE.  Parkland policy is to allow withdrawal up until one week prior to the last day of classes.  HOWEVER - PLEASE come and talk with me as soon as you feel you may be having problems with the course.

Exam Specifics

•    Each of the two course exams will be comprised of two portions.  The first portion will be written answers.  These may be multiple choice (MC), matching, or short answer.  The second portion of each exam will be structure identification using images from your text as the samples for the questions.  Specific structures will ONLY come from the structure lists provided at this website (i.e., from your text).  Spelling must be correct, with 1/2 point being deducted for misspellings.  If a structure is bilateral, the left or right descriptor must be used.

•    Exam I will cover Head & Neck Anatomy as well as Thorax.

•    Exam II will cover Abdominal and Pelvic Anatomy.  (Exam II is NOT cumulative.)
