With 9 full-time and 14 part-time faculty, Biology is the largest area within the Natural Sciences Department. Over 1100 students were enrolled in Biology courses for the Spring, 2001 semester. While the majority of the 24 classes offered in Biology are on-campus, a portion are taught as on-line and Distance Learning courses, via both Telecourses and Interactive Area Learning Centers. Courses are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend sections. Introductory and transfer-level courses are offered in areas such as: General Biology, Ecology, Evolution, Field Biology, Field Genetics, Microbiology, Natural History of the Caribbean, Pathophysiology, and Anatomy & Physiology.
