Astronomy classes at Parkland teach students about science, the tools and techniques of Astronomy, and the latest scientific results about objects in our solar system and the universe.

Students are also able to become familiar with the night sky. Students will spend time in the planetarium learning constellations, asterisms, star names, and other objects in the night sky. Night observing sessions allow the students to get some hands-on experience with telescopes and get a view of some objects only observable from a dark sky site.
